‘Lévres scintillantes’ translates as ‘sparkling lips’…isn’t that just lovely? This shade in particular from this line seems to be sold out in a lot of stores and at first glance, you can understand why. A glittery, almost metallic, red wine fuchsia lipgloss probably isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but this definitely catches your eye when you walk past a Chanel counter because it’s just a little bit different which is always nice. At £22, you expect this to be the mother of all lip glosses but for me, this is probably going to end up being a dressing table piece rather than something I will get a lot of use out of because the formula isn’t all that great in my opinion.
Although very easy to apply, this gloss has a pretty average lasting power and does feel a little heavy and sticky on the lips. Even though it doesn’t stay for very long, it doesn’t leave any uneven patches or leave your lips feeling really tacky and dry. If I pay £22 for a lip gloss, then I will try and get it to work for me so I tried it over the top of a matte lipstick and found it to last a LOT longer and it really brought out the shimmer a lot more.
Have you tried this gloss or any from this line? I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Jess x
