For a girl who loves easy-to-wear, chic and understated makeup, this collection is surely one to set your heart aflutter! The collection features all the essentials needed for creating a muted, smoky eye look with hints of heather and pink tones, all housed in gold and rather decadent packaging. The Clarins Autumn Collection 2015 will be available to purchase on counters this coming August and I can see it going down a treat with all the neutral lovers out there!
The product that stole my attention initially was of course the eye shadow palette. I’m always curious to see if the quality of shadows has been compromised for the convenience of a palette but I was really quite impressed with both the texture and colour pay off with the shadows in this Pretty Day 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette (£33). The cool toned shades with a couple of mattes and a few shimmers are great for on the go, as is the packaging with the dinky and lightweight case.
Now for my personal favourite from the entire collection. The Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipsticks (£19.50) in ‘tawny rose’ is the most beautiful brown based, dusty pink nude with a nourishing formula that rivals that of a lip balm. It’s hard to imagine a lipstick more perfect for the Autumn time!
To go alongside the already existing Clarins Ombre Matte Eyeshadow line (£19), a couple of new shades have been added to the shadow family. I have ‘carbon’ which is by far, the most pigmented black shadow I have ever come across. Pair that with the silky texture that glides on to the lids and sets to a powder that will stay put for hours on end, this is a winning formula and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this for a smoky black liner look.
Three new brow pencils (£17) are also a part of this collection and although I tend to prefer a teeny tiny nib with my brow pencils, the formula of these pencils have won me over for filling in the bulk of my brows. Waxy, firm and an ashy undertone? What more could a girl ask for? Oh, and Clarins have even added a spoolie to these pencils, all for your convenience (yipee!) Speaking of pencils, this collection welcomes a beautiful metallic, violet kohl liner (‘true violet’, £17) with a handy little shading brush built in.
What are your thoughts on this collection? Have any of these products caught your eye? Thanks so much to Clarins for sending me this wonderful collection. Jess x
